Message from the Advocate

Like most people, at the end of every year I enjoy taking the time to think back over the year that is coming to a close. 2023 was a very productive year for my Office! I can tell you that a lot has been achieved and I would like to note a few of the highlights, including some reports we released which are all on our webpage under the "Publications" heading and available to read or download.

My Office committed to reporting annually to the public on the status of all recommendations made by this Office. I am pleased to say that we have now produced two Status Reports (November 2022 and September 2023). We have seen progress in those recommendations being advanced...

Public Engagement
In 2022 we launched an extensive, province-wide public engagement process: 17 consultation sessions (in-person and online) and a survey. The purpose was to get a clearer sense of what issues concern seniors, their families and caregivers. To learn more about our findings click here: What We Heard: Engagement with Seniors, Family Members and/or Caregivers, and Service Providers. As a follow-up action, the Seniors' Advocate committed to continuing these important discussions by holding regular Town Hall meetings with seniors and others who wish to be heard. Please check out our fall 2023 schedule and keep an eye to this page for additional community visits in the winter and spring.
